18-month-old christmas gift ideas
Christmas is around the corner! And if you’re anything like me, you probably found yourself wondering, ‘What the heck do you get a toddler who is right on the cusp of, “OMG IT’S CHRISTMAS!!!” and, “Wait, what is even happening?”’ Well you’re in luck, cause I’ve done the footwork for you (and by “footwork,” I mean I posted a poll on IG and waited for other moms to tell me what they bought LOL).
The results are in…
Some of the more popular big-ticket items moms seem to be buying their toddlers this Christmas were:
Pottery Barn ‘Anywhere Chair’ (Currently on sale, ranging from $129 to $219)
The Nugget play couch (Ranging from $249 to $279)
Strider balance bike (Starting at $129.99 on Amazon; if you want the rocking base for younger kiddos, you can check that out here.)
The Step2 Roller Coaster (Currently 139.99 on Amazon)
But what about the little gifts?
Those are all awesome ideas, but again, if you’re anything like me… Our TOTAL budget for our toddler’s gifts is about equal to the cost of ONE of those items. And since he isn’t old enough to tell us what he really wants, I don’t feel too guilty not buying him all the big, fancy gifts. So, what exactly did we get him?
For his one big-ticket item, we got him something along the same lines as the Nugget: a couch that doubles as a small bed, puppet theater, ball pit, and more (at half the cost of a Nugget…AND, it glows in the dark. Pretty neat.) You can check it out here.
For the smaller gifts, we wanted at least one of them to be educational. I saw an ad for this really cool flash card thing (I believe that’s the “official” name for it lol) and swooped it up.
My husband really wants to get our son into Legos and trains, so I actually found some age-appropriate ones in the Christmas gift catalog Amazon sent us that meet both of those requirements: a Lego train.
Okay, but what about toys my kid actually likes? Cars are amongst those things, so I couldn’t resist getting this super cute car wash toy (honestly though, I think I may be more amused by it than anyone lol).
Grand Total: $158.97
(Keep in mind that when we bought the play couch, it was on sale for $88 and some change. The price has since gone up quite significantly, so you can always browse other options.) Overall, I’m super happy with what we got him. It wasn’t much, but I know we will have a great Christmas with our boy regardless of what’s under the tree. I hope your family does, too.
